Catalyst Foundation Annual Vietnam Culture Camp
Date: Thursday, July 10th- Sunday July 13th
Time: Begins at 2:00PM Thursday afternoon
Location: St. Olaf College, Northfield, MN

The Vietnam Culture Camp has two purposes: to enhance self-esteem for children adopted from Vietnam and to establish an appreciation of Vietnamese heritage and culture through interaction. Since 2000, we've had over 500 different families from all across the country (and Canada, Ireland, and England) join us at Culture Camp! We hope you can join in on the fun!

As a volunteer, you will be working with children in ages infant to 15 years old. Volunteers will receive free room and board.

FYI: ALL volunteers will be required to fill out a complete application with a background check.

VIA1 Conference: Golden Dreams-Redefining Success for our Generation

After fleeing the Communist take-over of South Vietnam, many Vietnamese people immigrated to the United States to begin new lives. Those immigrants worked hard to reach financial stability. However, many of the first-generation Vietnamese Americans did not encounter the same hardships as their parents. Finding a job, establishing economic stability, building a home, and integrating into society are some of the many hardships experienced by the first Vietnamese immigrants. With the hard work of those Vietnamese immigrants, their American-born children can reap the rewards of a higher education and financial support. Consequently, those children do not face the same hardships as their parents, but can instead achieve greater aspirations such as philanthropy, passion, love, fame, and personal achievement. The VIA-1 Spring Conference consists of talks, presentations, and workshops with the Vietnamese American Midwestern community.

2nd Annual VSA Vietnamese New Year (Tet) Celebration

Tết is a national holiday celebrated by many Vietnamese around the world. This special year of the Rat marks the beginning of the 12 month cyclical zodiac of animals.

The Vietnamese Student Association along with the Vietnamese community in Madison is putting together this festival on Saturday February 16th and would like to invite you to our new year.

Vietnamese authentic foods and deserts (che) are available.

There will be lìxì ($) for children under the age of 10 so bring your younger siblings ;)

The event is free and open to the public.
